Designed under John Polwhele Blatchley, the Corniche’s exterior remained largely unchanged from its 1971 introduction, featuring hand-formed body panels crafted by Mulliner Park Ward, Rolls-Royce’s bespoke coachbuilding division. Unlike mass-produced luxury cars, each Corniche was built with meticulous attention to detail, often taking several months to complete. The opulent interior featured Connolly leather upholstery, burled walnut wood veneers, Wilton wool carpeting, and chromed switchgear, making every journey feel like a first-class experience.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Corniche was its celebrity appeal—it was a favorite among royalty, Hollywood icons, and business tycoons, with owners including Frank Sinatra, Paul McCartney, and David Bowie. The convertible version, in particular, became an ultimate status symbol, often seen cruising along the French Riviera or Beverly Hills.
